StarFriend 0.78 Download And Installation

This tutorial will help you setup Lan emulator for StarCraft 2 with StarFriend v0.78.
Before you start read changes in 0.78 version.



StarCraft 2 Game Client
Fist you need StarCraft 2 client patched to version 1.3.6, 1.4.1 or 1.4.2 (You can also use 1.4.x patch but StarFriend is buggy with patch 1.4.x)
You can download StarCraft 2 here.

After you installed StarCraft 2 let it auto patch to version 1.3.6, 1.4.1 or 1.4.2. Make sure that it don’t patch to higher version, you can download patches manually if you don’t want to use auto updater.


Map Cache
Now when SC 2 i installed and patched you need to apply map cache.
Download map cache here.

Extract Map Cache to SC2 game direcory.



NOTE:
You don't need to repeat these steps on all computers, install Starcraft 2 on one computer and then copy Starcraft 2 Folder other computers.


StarFriend
Now when you have completed installing Starcraft 2 you can continue installing StarFriend.

First download StarFriend 0.78 here.

Extract archive to StarCraft 2 game direcory.


-if you used previews version of SF, and now try to use 0.76, then you should delete Base10074 folder in sc2 folder, otherwise, there are some errors, tell the users when release, thx.

Now start StarFriend_Client.exe, first it will ask you to select SC2 game directory.


In client tab you can set your username and chose avatar.


How to use StarFriend 

Players:
If you want to join an Lan game you need server (game host) IP address, then type IP in Server IP field.


Then click Start Game button.
Login with username gg@gl.hf
and password: gg


Now wait until game host invite you to game.



NOTE:
You can store servers (game hosts) by clicking Add Server button.


Double clicking on server in bookmarks will test if server is online and it will show ping to server.
Another double click will use (paste) that server info in Server IP field.

Game Host:
If you want to host games you need to go to Servers tab.
There you will see your IP address and port settings.
Also you can set maximum ping that players can have.


Click Start Server button to start server and click Start Game (in Client tab) to start game.


Now to create game click Multiplayer Game, select Game Mode, Race and click Create Game.


Chose map and create game.
I Game Lobby go to chat and right click on player and click Invite to Game



Wait to player accept invite an click Start Game.



All players
Make sure that port you portforward port 1119 in your router and open it in windows firewall (allow StarFriend in windows firewall)
